Overview
Broaden your career options in with a language qualification. No previous experience is required and you can study alongside your bachelors degree.
Patrick Groenewegen
Patrick Groenewegen is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History. He is studying a concurrent Diploma in Languages (French Studies).
I love studying and speaking French and was keen to do as much French as possible at university, so the Diploma of Languages really appealed to me. Whether you’re picking up a language for the first time at university, or are aiming to develop your language skills, the Diploma of Languages is a perfect solution.
The Diploma is great because you just load normally and add an extra year to your degree, so it doesn’t seem like an extra burden. I also study Spanish, and if it weren’t for the Diploma I would have had to choose between taking classes in French or Spanish, which would have been a difficult decision to make. I have particularly enjoyed the French Translation subject.
I am planning to be involved in a study abroad program in the second semester of next year to a French-speaking country, hopefully at Sciences Po in Paris.
