Overview

The Master of Digital Infrastructure Engineering is a 2–3 year degree (full-time) depending on your prior study.

Course structure

First year

In your first year (or equivalent) you’ll complete foundation engineering subjects. So if you're from a non-engineering background, you'll bring your broad expertise and learn to apply it to the engineering discipline. If you’ve completed a Digital Infrastructure Engineering Systems major in your bachelor’s degree, plus the required maths and science subjects, you’ll receive credit for these foundation engineering subjects and start in second year.

Second and third year

In the second and third year of the program (or equivalent), you’ll focus on your chosen engineering discipline. As a digital infrastructure engineering student, your focus will be on digital solutions to monitor and manage our environment. You’ll be involved in Smart Cities, the Internet of Things, and intelligent decision making out world.

You’ll undertake an industry, design or research project and gain the skills and knowledge to practice as a professional engineer.

As a Master of Digital Infrastructure Engineering student, you can pursue your career goals and interests through a specialisation, or you can choose not to specialise if you’d prefer.

Industry, design and research subjects

Internship subject

Endeavour exhibition

Work on an industry-partnered project, or pursue your own exploratory research and you’ll have the opportunity to present the findings to the public at our annual engineering showcase, the Endeavour Engineering and IT Exhibition. The EMI Capstone subject is your way to showcase how to connect engineering research, to a real-world problem. You'll start with the Engineering Capstone Project subject.
