Master of Educational Psychology

Throughout the degree, you will focus on early childhood development, learning issues, mental health, life transitions and promoting wellbeing across the lifespan. You will develop expertise based on a student-centred reflective learning curriculum through programs that are highly relevant to schools and educational policy and practice.

Placements

The course integrates supervised fieldwork to add practical learning to enhance understanding of the theories and research studied. Practicum placements are offered in a range of settings including schools, learning centres, colleges, clinics, hospitals, private practice and community settings.

Study structure

The Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) course totals 200 points of coursework, comprising 9 core subjects, 1000 hours of supervised fieldwork and a 10,000 word research project. The course can be completed full-time for 2 years, or part-time over 4 years (domestic students only). The intake is in February only.

How will I study?

The Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) has been designed around the lives of working professionals. The delivery mode of our course is face-to-face classes on the Parkville campus, with some subjects offered partially in intensive Saturday workshops. Students also complete 1000 hours of supervised placement in professional field settings.
