Profile
Ng Sze Min
Meet Ng Sze Min, Bachelor of Music (Interactive Composition) graduate
I'm currently based in Singapore as an artist and creative audio producer at Artwave Studio. The last couple of months have seen me travelling to Australia, UK and Malaysia to collaborate with both artists and locals, each culminating in performance works (in the forms of theatre, participatory works, installation) at festivals.
I have initiated many of my collaborations and offered my ideas to people beyond the arts. As an interactive composition graduate, our skills as collaborators and sensitivity towards the recipients of our work attracts the allied healthcare industry. I initially applied to be a programme facilitator at a dementia care centre last year, but ended up being an artist facilitator tasked to find innovative ways to engage and retain the attention of several elderly people in the late stages of dementia. There, I built a vocabulary of activities based on their individual interests around music and sound. We even held a year-end showcase party for their family members!
With Artwave Studio, we've since shaken up book launches with creative audio responses and ran innovative activities with large conference audiences. The interactive nature of my work recently attracted team building companies and I can't wait to see who'll be on board next.
